Last Sunday, 103 St Michael’s pupils braved the elements to take part in the annual Knight Frank Schools Triathlon at Sevenoaks School for the charity Restless Development. The weather certainly wasn’t on our side but our determined pupils were unfazed. They powered through the swimming, cycling and running with the grit, enthusiasm and good humour we’ve come to expect from them.
As always, our teams showed brilliant creativity with their names. Among the highlights were The Three Ticklish Terrifying Bros, Blondie Karate Pickle Trea R Back Booya and two personal favourites: The Pink Fluffy Flamingos With Fins and The Rapid Red Pandas. The names alone deserved medals.
What stood out was the incredible teamwork and support our pupils showed for one another throughout the event. It was equally wonderful to see so many parents out in force cheering from the sidelines.
A special mention must go to our Year 4 team of Rafi O, Reis N and Arthur G, who worked fantastically well together and stormed to victory in the Year 4 boys’ event.
This triathlon has become a much‑loved annual tradition for our pupils and once again they should all be applauded, not only for their sporting efforts but also for their impressive fundraising for such a worthwhile cause.
A big thank you to everyone who took part, supported, donated or stood in the rain with a smile.
