A celebration of all things French took place at St Michael's Prep School on Thursday 14th May.
The annual French Day event, which sees pupils and staff from Nursery to Year 8 take part in a day of themed activities, was just as impressive this year.
Everyone had an opportunity to explore new aspects of French culture by listening to a concert by the school's Accordion Group, having their picture taken at a photobooth and discovering some delights of French cuisine. On the menu, prepared by St Michael's in-house Catering Team, was boeuf bourguignon, baguette, saucisson, tarte au chocolat and escargots (for the most adventurous ones!). Other activities during the day included games, attending themed assemblies and listening to a French prayer during Chapel. Teachers across the school also added a French touch to their lessons.
Commenting on the success of the event, Head of Languages at St Michael's, Juliette Poracchia said: "French Day was a huge success; it was brilliant to see everyone embracing the French culture and celebrating their love of language learning - the accordion concerts performed by our own pupil Accordion Group were a definite highlight. A l’année prochaine (Let’s do it again next year)."
