St Michael's recently welcomed back a professional netball player, who is also a former pupil, to teach and inspire the children in Prep.
Jess Haynes, who has played for Leeds Rhinos in the Netball Superleague and is currently in Melbourne, Australia playing for Casey Demons, returned to St Michael's after previously being a pupil to lead netball sessions with various age groups in Prep during their PE lessons.
Head of Girls' Games, Nicky Denton commented: "The girls loved the sessions and threw themselves into every drill with real enthusiasm, leaving the courts buzzing with energy and inspiration. Her visit not only sharpened their skills but also gave them a glimpse of what dedication and passion can lead to, making it a truly memorable experience for everyone involved."
Professional netball player and Old Michaelian, Jess Haynes added: “I absolutely loved being back at St Michael’s to coach netball to various age groups. We focused on dictating in defence, working together and changing body angles. The girls were attentive, hardworking and a pleasure to coach. Thank you so much for having me back.”
