Friday 6th February is the NSPCC’s Numbers Day! Designed to spark excitement about all things number-related, our pupils have spent the week diving into a range of Maths‑based fun.

Year 8 and Year 4 kicked things off with a shared lesson playing Risky, while Year 7 teamed up with Year 3 to measure anything and everything around the school. Additionally, Year 6 visited Year 2 for strategy games and finally, Year 5 joined Year 1 for number games - lots of smiles, teamwork and excited chatter all round! The children absolutely loved having mixed year group lessons.

The fun continued as Prep children tried to work out all of the Maths teachers’ shapes by working together and asking clever yes and no questions. On Friday, pupils logged into Times Tables Rock Stars during break times to join the nationwide Numbers Day competition which stays open until 7.30pm for anyone keen to earn extra points for St Michael’s.

All in all, a brilliant week of maths, collaboration and number‑filled excitement!
