Year 4 discover Ancient Rome

News - 12 March

St Michael's Year 4 pupils enjoyed an immersive Roman Day on Tuesday 11th March.

Channelling our ethos of the Joy and Wonder of Learning, the children spent the day engaged in a variety of creative and investigative challenges which supported their Humanities learning.

In the morning, pupils visited a Roman Forum (marketplace) where they created Roman artistic masterpieces such as frescos, mosaics and wax tablets as well as a fragrance at the bathhouse! The children completed each quest in character as they worked together to prepare for Queen Boudica's Rebellion.

The afternoon brought an opportunity for Year 4 to become frumentarii (Roman secret police) in an attempt to find and capture a spy by investigating a range of suitcases. Luckily for St Michael's, they managed to find the spy!
